Here's the top five things that we think will have the fitness world buzzing in the UK in 2014.

Every year the fitness industry sheds its skin and transforms to keep things fresh if you are standing still in this industry you are moving backwards. Clients new and old want to try something different to test their bodies in different ways and achieve even better results.

Here are the top fitness trends that everyone in the UK will be talking about in 2014.

Group Training

Research has shown that people who train in a group environment are more successful than those who try to go it alone so the camaraderie and support you get in these environments is an advantage. Training in the outdoors with fresh air has been proved to give added benefits too.

HIIT (High-intensity interval training)

The buzz over HIIT is only going to get stronger next year the principle of short, quick, intense workouts gets applied to everything. One of the hottest HIIT workouts is known as Tabata style: you work at maximum effort for 20 seconds, then rest for 10 seconds, and then repeat. HIIT training will still be popping up in group classes, kettlebell formats, and spinning workouts this year.

Exercise and Weight Loss

This form of training is still one of the biggest growth areas with more and more classes springing up all over the UK. The British public love a slimming club where it’s a one-stop shop for nutrition guidance and aerobic style exercise.

Personal Training

Personal training sessions used to seen as something only celebrities and the wealthiest could afford but they are more accessible now than ever before. The one to one coaching and attention you receive is highly beneficial and can produce amazing results.

Fitness for Older Adults

This is a massive market that is growing on a daily basis. Classes can include Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, even aqua aerobics. As our nation grows older the apetite for working out just seems to be increasing and this is a trend that is talked about in more and more detail at seminars and workshops organised by the Fitness Industry.
