New Year, New...sod that!

I’m going to tell you something you probably wouldn’t expect from a personal trainer…. Chuck those New Year, New Me resolutions in the bin!

So did you make loads of fitness & health resolutions when you felt tired and sluggish over the festive period?  Did you see them in all of the magazines, newspapers and online?  Did you feel guilty and think right this year….

So how are those resolutions going now?  

It’s Tuesday and we’re back in the daily grind, the boss is moaning, the kids are whingeing, you overslept….

You know what - were you ever really going to suddenly go to the gym 5 times a week, going to ditch the processed food and eat whole foods, cut the drinking down to once a week once real life took hold?  

If you were don’t you think you would have done it before not just ‘coz the calendar changed a number and made it awkward whenever you have to write the date for the next few weeks?

Now if you have made loads of changes then I stand up and applaud you – fantastic, keep it up!  I hope you succeed! 

But if you haven’t?   It’s not too late! Don’t write off 2016 less than a week in!  Just reassess what you can do and keep it simple – one thing at a time, one day at a time, one week at a time, one month a time.

But before you do that work out why you want to make the change – what’s your reason?  Is it health, is it vanity, is it to keep up with the kids, so you want to succeed in a goal, lose some weight….. it could be anything.

I’ll post some more ideas tomorrow as to how to start and then stick with it but in the meantime let me know what your reason is.
