Here's a challenge for you!

I was thinking about how to make exercise a bit easier to make it part of my daily routine so I actually do it!  Remember how I make all sorts of excuses to put it off so have to put it in my diary?

Well here’s a little challenge for you.

Something you can do at home or at work and don’t even need to put your gym kit on for it!

Starting today I want you to do 100 squats a day!  WHAT?  Have you just said ‘I can’t do that!”  Nor can I!! I want you to break it down so maybe 10 lots of 10 or 5 lots of 20 – see where I am going?

So how about get out of bed and do 20, another ten while you are waiting for the kettle to boil for your tea or coffee?  Then 20 while you wait for the kettle to boil at work yes you may get some strange looks but why not rope some colleagues in as well, another 20 just after lunch, tea break in the afternoon…you see where I am going with this?  Suddenly you have done your 100!

Squats are a great exercise as they work a load of the major muscle groups in your legs and backside which are great for calorie burning and who doesn't like a nice firm…er….moving on!  ;-)

- feet shoulder width apart and pointing slightly out
- drop your backside down as if you are going to sit on a chair
- weight should be through your heels – can you wriggle your toes off the ground when you are at your lowest which should be when your thighs are parallel to the ground.

Keep a record of them and see how you develop through the month and how much easier they are to do at the end of the month than today.  You are going to do start doing them today right…?  Click here for a form for you to keep a record of how you get on! No excuses now eh?

Let me know how you get on and where the best, worst, strangest place you have done yours is!
